Egypt name team for Six-nation Snooker


KARACHI - Egypt is among the six nations that have confirmed participation in the Six-nation Snooker Championship which will be held here from March 4, the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association announced Wednesday.
Other five teams in the five day event are India, Iran Thailand UAE and host Pakistan. MIbrahim Mohamed and M Mustafa Shehab from Egypt; Yasin Reza Merchant and M Faisal Khan from India; Hossein Vafaei Ayouri and Syed Abooyesani from Iran;  Noppon Saengkham and Thepchaiya Un-Nooh from Thailand; M Al Joaker and M Mustafa Shehab from UAE are participating in the event.
The PBSA has also received confirmation from the president and the secretary of the International Billiards & Snooker Federation (IBSF) for attending this mega event in Karachi.
Besides the above special invitees t, president of Iran Federation will also attend the tournament and will be arriving with the Iran team. The PBSA had applied for the NOCs for the above team and till date the necessary NOCs are still awaited. The PBSA has serious concerns regarding the issuance of the visas of the above teams. The PBSA has urgently requested the concerned authorities to issue the clearance immediately to all the Pakistan embassies of participating countries.
