LAHORE - The owners of the institutions of manufacturing of furniture for the provincial Education department have demanded of the Punjab Chief Minister to adopt the policy of procuring furniture through open tenders instead of pre-qualification process to avoid corruption.

The representatives of the manufacturers including Dr.ZafarIqbal, Haji Ashraf,Sufi Muhammad Younus,Khalil Ahmed,Muhammad Amir,Haji Muhammad Aslam,Ali Umer,Haji Hafeez and others said that nepotism was in full swing in pre-qualification process besides awarding tenders at high bids which ultimately led the misuse of precious money of the students.

They urged the Chief Minister to take notice of the gravity of the situation and look into the matter and ordered to conduct inquiry in the misappropriation in the Education department.
