OKARA - JUI-F Information Secretary and Maulana Fazalur Rehman’s spokesman Maulana Amjad Khan has said after successful public meetings in Karachi, Kohat and Gujranwala, the party will organise a historic meeting in Bahawalpur on February 26.

Addressing a press conference here in Jamia Ashrafia at Rehman Colony, he said that the Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) meeting in Karachi was flopped due to some certain reasons, for which JUI-F said sorry to the entire nation. He said struggles were being initiated for the new Prime Minister but the decision will be taken by the PPP. “For this slot, the name of Maulana Fazalur Rehman is good but JUI-F is not in the race,” he added.

Maulana Amjad hoped that if the opposition agree on a formula, there would become a grand alliance before elections. The party’s first priority was to restore MMA, he said adding that Jamaat-e-Islami was ready to be a part of alliance. He said the PPP could not fulfil the commitments its leaders made with the nation. The PPP wanted political martyrdom, he added.

JUI-F Information Secretary said that the party wanted the Assemblies to complete their constitutional tenure, but hoped that early elections would improve political environment.

JUI-F District General Secretary Syed Ehtishamul Haq Guillani, Syed Ehsanul Haq Gillani, Maulana Abdul Ahad and a large number of party workers were also present there.
