LAHORE – Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that friendly ties between Turkey and Punjab stand further promoted through their cooperation in trade, economic, technology and other sectors. He said that his recent visit to Turkey was of great significance in this regard and implementation of agreements with Turkey has started.

He was talking to a Turk delegation on Wednesdayc. The team is urrently visiting Lahore. The delegation comprising experts in trade, education and anti-terrorism informed the CM about agreements reached between Punjab and Turkey as well as their implementation. The delegation said that the love and hospitality shown by the people of Punjab to them is unforgettable.

Talking to the delegation the CM said that promotion of mutual relations between Punjab and Turkey has added a new chapter to history and it augers well that two brotherly Islamic countries are benefiting from the experiences of each other. Appreciating the cooperation extended by Turkey in Bus Rapid Transit System and other sectors the CM said that it has further strengthened brotherly relations between the two countries.

Similarly, cooperation of Turk experts in anti-terrorism sector will help improve the performance of elite force, he added. The CM especially mentioned the Pak-Turk School set up in Lahore and said that cooperation of Turkey for providing quality education to Pakistani children is an invaluable gift and we appreciate the spirit of service of Turk brethren.

Members of the delegation appreciated the efforts CM made to translate into action various matters of mutual interest to Turkey and Punjab. They said Pakistan has always turned out to be the best friend of Turkey and the people of Turkey love Pakistan from the core of their heart. Chairman of Lahore Transport Company Kh. Ahmad Ehsaan, Member National Assembly Perviaz Malik and Secretary Home were also present on this occasion.
