LAHORE – The two-day International Journalism Conference concluded here on Friday when a number of media men read out their papers. The conference which was opened by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, had eight consecutive sessions in which journalists of national and international level participated. Besides prominent anchor persons from Germany, Hungary, Jordan, Iran, Turkey and America, senior columnists and news editors read their papers in the conference and informed the young students about their journalistic responsibilities. Dr Mugheesud Din, Sohail Warraich, Talat Hussain, Najam Wali Khan, Irtiza, Waseem Badami, Sajjad Meer, Dr. Anjum Zia, Samia Jameel, Dr. Ahsan Akhtar Naz, Shazia Saeed, Sohail Riaz Raja and other personalities addressed the conference. A detailed discussion was held on the topics like media ethics, business journalism, social media factor, round-table discussion and globalization of media education. Various speakers read their papers on positive and negative role of journalism in the society which were highly appreciated by the journalism students who had come from all over the province and termed it very useful for their studies.
