RAWALPINDI – Rawalpindi Traffic Police have opened the crossing on Rehmanabad, Benazir Bhutto Road, due to which the Sixth Road Flyover has almost lost its usefulness.

In addition, the situation has given way to frequent traffic jams. The Punjab Government constructed Chandni Chowk Flyover but traffic jam still used to occur at Rehmanabad and Sixth Road Chowk. To resolve this issue, another flyover was built at Sixth Road Chowk.

Soon after inauguration of the Sixth Road Flyover, the traffic police opened the crossing on Rehmanabad Chowk.

This has given way to hours long traffic jams. As a result billions of rupees spent on the two flyovers have also gone waste. The popular circles are of the view that despite construction of the flyovers, the traffic jams can harm PML-N’s vote bank in the upcoming general elections.
