At least four persons died after consuming “self-made” toxic wine in village Pathanaanwali-Roypur Sunday evening.
District Police Officer (DPO) Dr Shehzad Asif told the media that four friends - namely Afzal Janjua, Mubashar Hunjra, Hassan Shah and Mehdi Awan prepared wine at their Dera with the help of their two friends - Salamat Masih and Suraya Bibi. Later, they consumed the “self-made” wine and died there after vomiting. The police said that the wine was toxic due to which all the four persons died after its consumption.
The DPO added that the Saddr Police had registered a case and arrested two accused - Salamat Masih and Suraya Bibi who prepared the toxic wine. The police have shifted the dead bodies to Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital Sialkot for autopsy. The doctors at the hospital also confirmed that the deaths occurred due to consumption of toxic wine.

Three persons including two women were killed in different incidents here on Sunday.
As per details, a man shot dead his stepmother over a domestic issue here in village Naul Ottar in the limits of Kot Radha Kishan Police on Sunday.
Reportedly, Azam nursed a grudge against his stepmother after his father Zulifqar contracted second marriage with Azizan Bibi. On Sunday, Azam and Azizan Bibi exchanged hot words over some issue at which the former shot her dead. The police have launched investigation into the incident.
In another incident, a domestic dispute claimed another life in the remit of Phoolnagar Police. Yasmeen, a resident of village Dina Nath hanged herself with the ceiling fan of her bedroom over a domestic issue with her husband Niamat Ali. The police sent the body to THQ Hospital for autopsy and started investigation.
Meanwhile, the Mustafabad Police recovered the dead body of an unidentified man from near Adda Vadana. The police sent the dead body to city morgue.

Four persons were killed and three others injured in different road accidents here on Sunday.
According to details, in Vehari two persons were killed and two others sustained injuries in van-truck collision due to heavy fog on Multan Road near Adda Kandor on Sunday.
According to rescue officials, the pick-up van was on the way to Thengi when it tried to overtake a cart, ran into a truck coming from the opposite direction due to dense fog.
Resultantly, two persons identified as 27-year-old Muhammad Ramzan and 20-year-old Muhammad Rizwan were on the spot whereas the injured passengers of the truck, Riaz Khan and Obaidullah, were given medical assistance by Rescue 1122.
In Faisalabad, two persons were killed and another injured in a road accident here on Sunday. Police said that the accident took place near Khurrianwala where a speeding truck rammed into a motorcycle carrying three persons. As a result two persons died on the spot while another sustained wounds who was rushed to local hospital by rescuers.
Police have registered a case against the truck driver who managed to flee from the scene.
