CM opens Jail Road signal-free project

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated Jail Road signal-free corridor project yesterday.
The 7.5kilometer long project with 12 U-turns have been constructed and completed at a cost of Rs2,395 million. On the occasion, the chief minister said that like other projects of Punjab government, Jail Road signal-free corridor is a masterpiece of transparency and standard.
He said that PML-N government has promoted the trend of completing public welfare projects speedily. He said that the criticism on the public welfare projects is, in fact, opposition to development and prosperity of the people. He said that those criticizing public welfare projects unjustifiably have no concern with welfare of the people.
He said that public service vision of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is being forwarded. He said that fuel will be saved due to Jail Road signal-free corridor and more than four lakh vehicles will pass from the signal free corridor. Shahbaz Sharif said that modern traveling facility will be available to the citizens due to completion of this project. He said that Jail Road signal-free corridor project is an important element of ongoing programme of Punjab government with regard to improvement of infrastructure.
He expressed happiness over the quality of the project. He vowed that public welfare projects will continue with same speed and high quality.
Shahbaz Sharif appreciated the performance of DG LDA with regard to high quality work and said that the hard work of contractors and labourers who worked on the project is also laudable.
The chief minister after inaugurating the project also took round of Gulberg Flyover. Kh Ahmed Hasaan, DG LDA and DCO Lahore were also present on the occasion.
