Central leader of Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf (PTI) Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that talks are underway between the PML-N and PPP to turn the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) toothless, warning his party will strongly resist the politics of under hand deals.

Talking to the journalists here on Monday, he added that the PTI would raise the issue on the floor of the National Assembly and oppose government’s bids to bring any new law to render NAB toothless. “If the rulers are clear of corruption spots, why are they so concerned?” he posed a question. He said that the attempts to pressurise NAB were condemnable and his party deplored the acts of PML-N and PPPP to suppress the accountability body. He said that at a time when many mega scandals had been unearthed, putting pressure on NAB was highly inappropriate.

He disclosed that the PTI chief Imran Khan had constituted a committee in KPK comprising experts to carry out unbiased and independent accountability. He lamented that the farmers were faced with the worst ever time of their lives due to poor policies of the government. He maintained that the Kissan Package did not benefit the farming community. He declared that a big Kissan Convention would be held on February 24 with the collaboration of Kissan Ittehad, Kissan Board, Farmers Association and others. Answering a question on NA-153 by election, he said that the PTI would contest on its electoral sign of bat and the name of candidate would be announced soon. Family members of 2 beheaded deceased boys protested, demanding for hand over this case to military court for rapid justice.
