DUBAI: Former federal home minister, Rehman Malik today held a key meeting with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)  chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in United Arab Emirates, sources said.

The duo discussed array of issues including the political situation of the country.

Bilawal Bhutto also discussed the issue of National Accountability Bureau actions in Sindh and the party matters.

According to sources, the PPP chairman who is staying in Dubai, had summoned Malik to over the political and the party matters.

PPP government in Sindh had expressed its reservations over the actions of the federal agencies NAB and FIA in the province and criticized it interference in the provincial matters. The provincial government had also demanded formation of a judicial commission to look into the operations of federal agencies in Sindh.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali had offered constitution of a judicial commission over the FIA and NAB operations in Sindh, which was accepted by the provincial government.

It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had recently rebuked the federal anti-corruption watchdog and warned it to act ‘responsibly’ or face the music.

The central government has also decided to form an oversight commission to look into the functioning of the National Accountability Bureau.
