–says govt strengthened economy

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that due to the solid economic policies of the government, national economy has strengthened and today’s Pakistan is safer and developed than that of 2013.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of office-bearers and workers of PML-N. He said under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan will become strong economically. He said that due to wrong priorities of former rulers, country and the nation faced problems.
The chief minister said that people have rejected those creating hurdles in the journey of development and prosperity of the country. He said that those who pushed the country into darkness cannot see the country progressing. He said that the political forces opposing development projects cannot stop the process of progress of the people. Shehbaz Sharif said that every effort will be made for completing the projects of development and prosperity of the country and the nation. He said that PML-N government is serving the people selflessly considering it a form of worship and public service mission will continue.
The chief minister said under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, work has been carried out with commitment and hard work on energy projects. He said that work is being carried out speedily on energy generating projects for coping with energy crisis. He said that foundation-stones of gas-based power plants have been laid in Haveli Bahadar Shah in Jhang, Bheki and Balloki in Sheikhupura whereas work is continuing speedily on Sahiwal coal power plant.
He said that 1320 megawatt electricity will be generated from this coal power plant and this project will be completed in 2017 before stipulated time.
Shahbaz Sharif said that besides traditional methods, attention is also being paid to the generation of energy through alternate sources. He said that our every step is forwarding towards development of the country.
He said that agreements have been made between Punjab government and companies of China and Denmark for setting up energy projects of 2320 megawatts in South Punjab and work will soon be started on these projects.
He said under the agreement made between Punjab government and Denmark, Danish wind power generation international company Vestas will set up four wind power plants of 250 megawatt in Rajanpur of South Punjab while Chinese company Hauneng Shandong will set up two coal power plants of 660 megawatt each in Rahim Yar Khan.
The chief minister said that there are vast opportunities of generating energy through wind in South Punjab and sites have been selected where power plants for generating energy through wind can be set up.
He said that by setting up new energy projects, not only economic activities will increase but investment will also enhance and new job opportunities will be created.
PML-N delegation appreciated the efforts being made under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for eliminating energy crisis and said that the sincere efforts of party leadership will bear fruit and darkness will be removed.
They said that Shahbaz Sharif is serving the people selflessly and people are benefiting from mega projects being completed under his leadership.
