Two sentenced to death in triple murder case

A local court handed down death sentence to two murder accused on three counts and sentenced another to life in prison. The court also acquitted three co-accused by giving them the benefit of the doubt.
Phalia Additional District and Sessions Judge Abdul Raheem pronounced the verdict in a triple murder cases here on Monday. Both Muhammad Ikram and Saifullah were sentenced to death.
According to prosecution, six accused - Muhammad Akram, Saifullah, Ehsan Ullah, Muhammad Nawaz and their two unidentified accomplices had shot dead three persons - Dilawar, Abdul Rehman, Rafaqat and injured in Village Kadhar Garbi in the Qadirabad Police precincts.
The Qadirabad Police had registered case of the incident and submitted challen in the court. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had also visited the bereaved family and had assured them of justice.

Bike-lifters busted; 21 two-wheelers recovered

The police claimed to have busted a motorcycles-lifter gang and arrested its operatives including the ringleader. The plice also recovered 21 motorcycles from the gangsters.
The ringleader Rizwan alias Rizwani and Sharafat have been run an organised gang and were wanted by the police since long.
DSP Muhammad Ikram stated at press conference held here on Monday.
The DSP said that a CIA team was constituted on the directives of Kasur DPO Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to curb the rising incidents of motorcycle theft.
“The team comprising two ASIs traced the gang by using scientific techniques and professional capabilities and arrested the accused,” he informed. DSP Ikram said that initially the police recovered 21 stolen motorcycles while the accused have confessed to 28 bike theft incidents in Lahore and different parts of Kasur.
Later, the DSP handed over the motorcycles to the owners.
