LAHORE - PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday said that the courts should treat the politicians and the dictators alike while dispensing justice.

“If the courts would deliver verdicts only against the politicians while sparing the dictators, it would raise questions [on their credibility]”, he said while addressing party workers at party’s central Punjab office here.

He said that law should be applied equally on all and sundry.

To a question, he said that former dictator Pervez Musharraf should also be held accountable for his unconstitutional acts.

Bilawal, however, said that court had delivered a right verdict against Mian Nawaz Sharif.  PPP leader also held him responsible for creating troubles for himself. “He [Nawaz Sharif] will also get punishment by the court in cases pending with the NAB court”, he said.

Bilawal also accused Nawaz Sharif of setting the State institutions against each other for his personal interests. But he won’t succeed in his designs, he added. Bilawal also described Nawaz Sharif as an expert in the art of dramatising every matter.

“Whether it be the plane hijacking case or that of an attack on the Supreme Court building, he would be dramatise everything”, he remarked.  Answering a question about his possible meeting with Maryam Nawaz Sharif, he responded by stating that there was no question of meeting her when his party was going to contest the coming elections against her party.

He said that his party was opposed to the politics of the PTI and the PML-N. “We don’t do the politics of pro-Taliban Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif’s politics of Ameerul Momineen,” he said.  Also, the PPP Chairman on Thursday said that PPP had a history of struggle to make Pakistan a progressive and enlightened State.  Addressing a function held at Green Town in connection with party’s membership campaign, Bilawal said that party activists in the past had supported his maternal grand-father and his mother in their struggle for the rights of the common man.

“Today, the party workers are also standing with me like in the past for the struggle to make a prosperous and progressive Pakistan”, he said, adding, that PPP was the only party which represented all strata of society.

PPP Chairman went back to Karachi on Thursday after visiting Lahore.

During his stay here, he visited the residences of Asma Jehangir and Munnu Bhai over their death to offer his condolence.
