KARACHI - The Chief Justice (CJ) of Sindh High Court (SHC) Ahmed Ali M Shaikh on Monday sought a progress report from Dadu police pertaining to the sexual abuse of a 3-year-old girl in Dadu.
The high court’s Chief Justice heard the case and asked the police to furnish a progress report of the case at next hearing.
During the hearing, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dadu, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and Medical Superintendent (MS) of Civil Hospital appeared before the Chief Justice. The police briefed the court on progress made in an investigation into the case. The top officials informed the Chief Justice that the prime suspect has been arrested and his DNA samples have been taken. The officials said that suspect has confessed to have committed the offense in a statement before a Dadu judicial magistrate. Later, the court adjourned the hearing of case.
On February 17, a minor girl was admitted to Dadu Civil Hospital in critical condition. The doctors at the hospital had confirmed rape with the child in an initial medical report. Following the case, the police had arrested a suspect immediately after the incident.
