High security at Nadra offices

KARACHI - Federal Interior Ministry has directed the concerned authorities to tighten security at the NDRA offices set up across the country. Source privy to the matter told The Nation that National Database Registration Authority (NDRA) had frequently been getting threats form terrorists of suicide attacks and bombing at its offices across the country besides targeting NADRA officials. National Crises Management Cell has directed all provincial home departments and concerned IGs police to take these threats seriously and provide proper security at NADRA offices and its employees. Its is pertinent to mention here that terrorists have also warned the women of dire consequences in case they visit NDRA offices to get their Identity Cards. Hence, Crisis Management Cell has also ordered foolproof security for people visiting NDRA offices. Chief Secretary Sindh, Fazalur Rehman told The Nation that government was already providing proper security to all sensitive places including the NADRA offices. He said that he was unaware of any recent threat and directives from National Crisis Management Cell in this regard.
