Jamaat-e-Islam (JI) staged a protest against US raids and ongoing military operation in tribal areas in Islamabad on Friday. The protesters called for government to pull out troops from FATA and the Swat valley. The rally which was led by JI Amir Qazi Hussain Ahmed commenced from Aabpara Chowk. The participants of the rally chanted slogans against military operation and US drones' attacks on tribal areas. In his address, JI Amir Qazi Hussain Ahmed assured that a durable peace could be restored if government withdraws troops from Swat and Bajaur Agency. On this occasion, JI Naib Amir Liaquat Baloch announced that JI would hold jirga in Multan, Lahore and Faisalabad from January 26 to 28 to express solidarity with the peple of tribal region.
