LAHORE - The Sri Lankan and Pakistan team reached city on Thursday to play their third and final encounter at the Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday (tomorrow). They were accompanied from Karachi by PCB chairman Ijaz Butt. Both the teams are currently tied at 1-1. Pakistan took the opener by eight wickets while the tourists turned the tables on the hosts by 129 runs. The Sri Lankan team retired to their rooms while the Pakistan team had an optional practice at the stadium later under lights amidst tight security. The teams will hold their practice sessions Friday evening and continue till the dusk under lights. The security at the stadium and the team hotel has been of high alert and over 3000 personnel have been deputed at the places along with sniffing dogs. Any person without proper documentation is not being allowed in the hotel premises only ticket-holders would be allowed to the stadium. The tickets for the match were put on sale at 10 Bank Alfalah branches of the city and very little response was seen till now. And majority of the fans were seen seeking free passes of tickets for the matches. The PCB has reduced the price of general and some of the other good stands quite reasonably. The enclosure for ladies and families which is Nazar Mohammad is Rs 150 while the Majid Khan, Saeed Ahmed, Saeed Anwar and Sarfraz Nawaz stands ticket are for Rs 50. The tickets of Fazal Mahmood, Imran Khan Rs 1500, AH Kardar and Javed Miandad Rs 400 and Zaheer Abbas, Imtiaz Ahmed, Hanif Mhammad, Rajas and Abdul Qadir Rs 250. Meanwhile, the Lankan team manager Brendon Kuruppu was all praise of the arrangements made by the Pakistan government and the PCB for the series. He also has urged the cricket nations to support Pakistan at this difficult time. He said that the international team should visit Pakistan and see for their selves the security situation here. "We are satisfied with the arrangements. "We had no security problem her so far," he added.
