A fat fee also on line here

After the Supreme Courts detailed judgement on the NRO, one private television channel asked Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan whether he will defend President Asif Ali Zardari in court if approached by the Presidency. Aitzaz Ahsan said Socha jaa sakta hai (one can think about it). Let me remind Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan that it was President Asif Ali Zardari who refused to restore Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry despite the promise of his late wife Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Some well known MNAs of PPP even accused CJ Chaudhry of having become a 'disputed personality that cannot be given the mantle of being Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan. We all know that it wasnt President Asif Ali Zardari who restored Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry but a telephone call from Rawalpindi that turned the tables. For the last more than a month, Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan has been openly defending President Zardari in his TV interviews. By doing so, he has lost all respect and credibility he had gained in his two years campaign for restoration. If Aitzaz Ahsan is still contemplating being the legal counsel of President Asif Ali Zardari, he must desist. His reputation as a politician is on the line here. -M.
