ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif and Awami National Party President Asfandyar Wali Khan would be meeting soon after formers return from China to thrash out differences on renaming of NWFP. The sources close to both these parties informed TheNation that the ANP and PML(N) committees under the head of Senator Haji Adeel and former Senator Sartaj Aziz respectively had held a meeting in this connection a few days back and each side had proposed three names each and left the final decision to the parties heads to select among these names to be given to NWFP. The sources in both these sides informed that besides proposing the names, both sides had held detailed discussion on the subject but as they could not evolve consensus on any of these names, the job was left to Asfandyar Wali Khan and Mian Nawaz Sharif to decide. The sources privy to the ANP-PML(N) sides meeting, in which ANP had proposed Pakhtoonkhawa, Afghania and Pakhtoonistan while PML(N) had given the names of Ghandara, Khyber and Abaseen, informed that as both sides could not reach at consensus, the matter was left to Asfandyar Wali Khan and Mian Nawaz Sharif who would be meeting soon after the latters return from China. The sources in PML(N) informed that Mian Nawaz would be returning home in the next few days and the meeting with ANP President Asfandyar Wali would likely be held sometime by end of next week. The sources further disclosed that both sides had empowered their chiefs to have final word in this connection and it was likely that the new name would be amalgamation of two names and it could be Pakhtoonkhawa-Hazara or Pakhtoonkhawa-Ghandara, as both these names would be acceptable to the majority of population of the province.
