LAHORE – The 10 Corps Red team clinched the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Polo Cup title after defeating 4 Corps by five goals to four and a half in a thrilling final here at the Fortress Stadium polo ground on Tuesday.

Both the teams played exceptionally well and gave tough time to each other exhibiting their prowess in the final. Major Haseeb Minhas was the player of the day as he played brilliantly and struck superb four goals for 10 Corps Red while Captain Ahad Sultan scored one goal in the last chukker to steer his team to title victory. Maj Omer Minhas converted three goals and Lt Col Shaharyar Munir had one for the losers as they had half goal handicap advantage.

The 10 Corps Blue outclassed 30 Corps by 10 goals to four and half to win the subsidiary final. Maj Rab Nawaz Tiwana remained the top scorer for the winners as he slammed six goals in his team’s victory while Lance Dafedar Saqib Rahim added four goals. Two goals came from 30 Corps team’s players while they had two and half goal handicap advantage which made their final score four and half goals.

At the end, chief guest Maj Gen Shahid Baig Mirza General Officer Commanding Lahore gave away the winning trophy to the 10 Corps team.
