ICC should provide security to Pak women team: Zaka

GUJRANWALA – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf said on Tuesday that International Cricket Council (ICC) should have ensured the provision of proper security to Pakistan women cricket team.
Talking to the media after condoling the death of mother of famous entertainer Sohail Ahmed here on Tuesday in Gujranwala, Zaka said holding of Pakistan Super League (PSL) would let fans a chance to watch good cricket and the arrival of international cricketers would present a good image of Pakistan.
“The ICC is responsible for providing foolproof security to Pakistan women cricket team in India and we are in regular touch with world’s cricket ruling body in this regard,” the PCB chief said and added: “The cricket ties between the two neighbouring countries are strengthening their relations but current situation has deteriorated the relation having sheer adverse implications.”
Speaking about Pakistan Super League, Zaka said: “The Pakistan Super League (PSL) will commence as per schedule and the cricket board is in contact with other countries in this regard.”
Talking about the upcoming Pak-Africa series, he said: “The series between Pakistan and South Africa will be very competitive but I am hopeful our players will perform well and try their best to register series victories in all the formats of the game.”
