100 Rangers posts to get solar systems

BAHAWALNAGAR
Director General Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) Major General Khan Tahir said that 100 Rangers posts will be provided with solar system in Fortabbas and Rahim Yar Khan to overcome electricity crisis there.
However, he clarified, the solar panels – 50 each in both the districts - would be installed with donations from philanthropists as the government would not fund the project. Mr Tahir briefed the media after the inauguration of reconstruction work at the Rangers headquarters in Bahawalnagar.
He said that 11 underground posts of rangers which were in a shambles due to the accumulation of underground water were being reconstructed while work at two posts had completed.
Two water filtration plants having capacity of 20,000 litres were also installed as potable water was unavailable at the posts, he said.
He lauded the cooperation of the people residing in the Bahawalnagar-Sialkot border areas. On the occasion, Lie-Col Usman and other officers were also present.
