Doctors of Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Mailsi are committing negligence and not seen during their duty hours as they are running their private clinics or hospitals during the official time, The Nation has learnt.

According to reliable resources, most of the doctors run their private clinics and hospitals near the THQ Hospital and go to their clinics after signing in the hospital. There is only one doctor in Emergency Ward to handle the huge number of emergency patients, they said. They added that the people of area are facing problems due to the horrible situation.

People of the area including Ch Ghayour Aslam, Mian Ishfaq Ahmad, Mian Amir, Salman Majeed, Qari Khalid Mehamood, M Tofail Bhatti, Sarfarz Khan Ghori, Jameel Khan Ghori, and Syed Waqar Shah expressed concern over the miserable condition of the hospital. They said that the costly equipment of the hospital had been lying unused since their installation in the hospital.

They said the THQ Hospital had remained without required number of doctors and the few available doctors including the medical superintendent remain absent from duty. They said there was no lady doctor at the hospital due to which female patients were facing healthcare problems. They complained against the deficiency of equipment and other facilities at the hospital. The local people appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take action against the absentees.

CEREMONY: A ceremony was held to open Punjab Youth Festival at Govt College Mailsi.  The ceremony was organised by Tehsil Sports And Sports and Youth Development Council and the TMA. MPA Naeem Khan Bhabha said that soon he would give good news regarding the construction of a stadium in Mailsi.
