The Punjab government is committed to promoting education at every level, and providing every possible facility for the students, said Punjab Minister for Prisons Abdul Waheed Arain. “Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken a various steps in this regard which are appreciable and productive like internship, laptop, Ujala scheme and scholarships under the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund for students,” he said during a meeting with Islamia University of Bahawalpur Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Mukhtar at the latter’s office.

The provincial minister appreciated the ongoing development and progress of the University in academic and social development and said that the recent promotion of the IUB could be a model for other educational institutes for better results. He was of the view that the vice-chancellor was fully capable for leading the crusade for promotion of education in the area. Dr Mukhtar informed the provincial minister about the ongoing academic, research and community development activities including ongoing developments of Govt Sadiq College Women University where the first session of the postgraduate classes had started. The vice-chancellor also presented a special publication of the university to the provincial minister who appreciated the book.
