ISLAMABAD - Lahore Region Blues routed Islamabad Region by five runs to end their brilliant run in the Cool & Cool Presents National One-Day Cup 2015-16 round seven Pool A match played here at National ground on Friday.
Batting first on a foggy day, Islamabad were all out for 168 in 33.5 overs. Sohail Ahmed slammed 79. Raza Ali Dar clinched 4-47 and M Saeed 3-25. Lahore Region Blues reached home in 31.5 overs losing five wickets. Agha Salman scored unbeaten at 40.
No play was possible at Arbab Niaz Stadium between Hyderabad and Peshawar Region due to heavy fog. At Pindi Stadium, SSGC routed star-studied SNGPL by massive 102 runs. SSGC scored 180 all out in 44.5 overs. Wajid Ali gathered 48 and Muzamil Nizam unbeaten 40. Asad Ali picked 3-26, while Atif, Imran and Ahmed took two wickets each. SNGPL, in reply, were bundled out for meager 78 in 25.5 overs. Sohail Khan played havoc with SNGPL batting grabbing 5-29 while Usama Mir chipped in with 2-14.
At Diamond ground, UBL suffered three-wicket defeat at the hands of Port Qasim. Batting first, UBL posted 236-7 with Shan Masood smashing 73 and Sharjeel Khan 58. Zohaib Shera took 3-43 and Shahzaib Hassan 2-27. In reply, Port Qasim reached home in 35.3 overs losing seven wickets. M Salman hit unbeaten 44. Yasim Murtaza took 3-51.
