CTD to probe Intizar’s murder case

KARACHI - Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) would investigate Intizar Ahmed’s murder case, said a notification issued by DIG Headquarters Munir Ahmed Shaikh on Monday.

“With the approval of competent authority, the investigation of Intizar murder case registered at Darakshan police station is hereby assigned to CTD under the supervision of CTD’s Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Amir Farooqi for further investigation with immediate effect. DIG Farooqi shall assign the investigation to an efficient and competent investigating officer and will ensure impartial investigation, early detection and finalization on merit,” said the notification.

Earlier, District South Investigations SP Farooq Awan was heading the investigations.  On the other hand, police officials said that a fair and transparent investigation is being conducted into the incident, adding that they have already recorded the statements of both Madiha and Salman.

DIG South Azad Khan said that SSP Haider would also be a part of the investigation if any evidence found against him. SSP Haider however, declined his involvement.
