Difference of attitude

The current condition of city compels me to criticise the concerned authorities over their non-serious attitude. It is believed that Karachi is the hub of country’s economy. It is also believed that it is the city of lights. Despite both titles, the residents of Karachi are deprived of basic facilities. But today I am highlighting one major problem with your esteemed paper.

Two main industrial zones of city namely Korangi Industrial Area and SITE, are manufacturing goods of millions and billions worth. Both are contributing significant percentage in GDP of Pakistan, but unfortunately, they are not getting what they deserve. The main roads in both industrial zones are in worst condition. The main road of SITE starting from Shershah flyover towards Nadra mega centre & Nazimabad is in the worst condition. Every 100-meter distance is miserably damaged. On the other hand, the main road of Korangi starting from Jam Sadiq Flyover towards Siemens Chowrangi is also in the worst condition. Every turn-about in this road is decorated with heaps and open man-holes. Due to damaged roads traffic is not flowing smoothly. The vehicle owners are bearing great losses due to this issue.

According to some media reports, the cost incurred on Jam Sadiq Flyover is same as cost incurred on Abdullah Shah Ghazi, Clifton Flyover constructed by Malik Riaz including decoration and street lights. Now, one can imagine the seriousness of responsibilities from these two projects. One must ask from concerned authorities that if main roads of two large industrial zones are not well maintained then what would be the condition of other roads!
