Japanese govt vows to cooperate with SSWMB

KARACHI - Japan Consulate’s advisor assured that government of Japan and JICA Company to cooperate with Sindh Solid Waste Management Board.

This was stated by Economic Advisor of Japan Consulate, Yoko Watanabe, who called the Managing Director of Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB), AD Sanjnani at his office on Monday.  On the occasion, she briefed by the department about ongoing projects of the board.

Later, the adviser Yoko Watanabe along with SSWMB’s officials also visited at waste landfill sites of SSWMB located at Jam Chakro and Gond areas. She assured that government of Japan and JICA Company to cooperate with solid waste management board. On the occasion, Economic Advisor of Japan consulate briefed by the SSWMB officials about the dumping of waste at the site after computerised weighting.

The officials also informed that the waste dumping process has been completing at the landfill sites as Japan’s Facuka procedure which introduced by JICA company in Karachi in 1992. Solid Waste Management Board has redesigned the procedure after long time with modern scientific basis.
