ISLAMABAD - President Mamnoon Hussain has said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were the closest friends and the depth of their relationship was difficult to describe in words.
He said this while speaking at a ceremony at the President House on Monday, where Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) was conferred on Commander Royal Saudi Naval Forces Vice Admiral Fahad Bin Abdullah Al-Ghofaily.
The President said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were the closest friends and the depth of their relationship was difficult to describe in words.
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki and senior civil and naval officers were also present during the investiture ceremony.
Commander Royal Saudi Naval Forces also called on President Mamnoon Hussain after the ceremony. Matters of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
While talking to the Commander of Royal Saudi Naval Forces, the President emphasised that there were not only close ties between the governments of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia but also between the people of the two countries.
He underlined that a sincere friendship between the two countries will further grow in the coming days.
He said that Pakistan Navy and Royal Saudi Naval Forces stand behind each other in the hour of need.
While expressing satisfaction over the cooperation between the Naval forces of both countries, he said that it will yield far-reaching and beneficial impacts.
Meanwhile, Vice Admiral Fahad Bin Abudllah Al Ghofaily, Commander Royal Saudi Naval Forces called on Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain in his office at the Ministry of Defence Production Rawalpindi on Monday.
The Federal Minister thanked the delegation for assistance and support of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan from time to time.
Tanveer Hussain appreciated the ongoing cooperation between the PAC and the Ministry of Defence Saudi Arabia on the Super Mushshak aircraft.
Both sides desired to enhance mutual cooperation in different areas of defence production especially in the field of the shipbuilding industry.
The Minister also offered a supply of defence products of Pakistan in order to meet the requirements of Saudi Arabian Armed Forces alongwith complete training package and after-sales support.
Federal Minister also offered facilities of Pakistan’s Defence Production Establishments for experimental testing and development of arms, ammunition and optics etc.
Joint ventures with Karachi Shipyard for construction of warships and ship repair facilities also came under discussion.
