Three siblings die in roof collapse in Kasur

KASUR   -  At least three kids were died and two other persons were seriously injured when roof of a house collapsed in Kasur in wee hours of Friday.

As per details, roof of a dilapidated house located in Natheywala area of Kasur collapsed which claimed three lives on the spot. Rescue teams reached the spot after being informed and retrieved three dead bodies of the children from the rubble while two persons were rescued in injured condition, a private news channel reported. The rescue teams shifted the dead and injured to a nearby hospital.

11-year-old boy dies in road accident

An eleven-year-old boy riding a motorcycle was killed near Mahiwala in Ganda Singh Wala area near here on Friday. According to police sources, Ali Raza, resident of Fitiwala, was on his way back from Ganda Singh Wala when a speeding tractor-trolley hit him at high speed. Ali received severe injuries and died on the spot, without getting any medical assistance. The unidentified driver fled from the scene. Police shifted the body to the DHQ Hospital for autopsy. Further investigation was underway, the police said.

Modern agri programmes launched

Deputy Commissioner Kasur Manzar Javed said on Friday that on the direction of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, various modern agriculture programmes were launched here in Kasur to uplift the agriculture economy. The growers not only provided subsidy on seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and agriculture machinery but also provided with drip irrigation system. He said this while addressing a meeting at district agriculture advisory, DC committee room. He directed the agriculture field staff to provide relief to farmers on priority, adding that they should encourage them to adopt modern irrigation technology. He urged the staff to keep check on the prices of fertilizers in the markets and said strict action would be taken against fake fertilizers sellers. On the occasion, ADCR abid Hussain Bhatti, Deputy Director agriculture (extension) Naveed Amjad,and other concerned officers were also present.
