Shahenshah's murder is target killing: Mirza

KARACHI- Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza on Tuesday described the assassination of Khalid Shahenshah, PPP leader and Security Officer of Bilawal House target killing and conspiracy to derail the democratic government. Talking to media at Jinnah Hospital where body of the deceased was taken for post-mortem, he said that an inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the killing of Khalid who received four bullets. He said that conspiracies are being hatched against PPP and murder of a committed person is a machiavillian tactic to destabilize the government. Large numbers of PPP workers office bearers were also assembled outside the private hospital lactated in Clifton where his body was brought up. Replying to a question, he said it would be premature to say that Khalid was killed for being a witness in Benazir Bhutto's assassination case. He said the accused were riding a white colour car when they intercepted Khalid in Clifton area and gunned him down. Meanwhile, C M Syed Qaim Ali Shah has expressed grief over the killing of Shahenshah and ordered IG police to investigate the matter and bring the culprits to book at the earliest.  Advisors, to CM Rashid Rabbani , Waqar Mehadi, Mohammad Ismael Dehari , Imtiaz Mallah and PPP leader Abubahi also condemned the killing of PPP leader and expressed solidarity with deceased family members. PPP leaders flay Shahenshah's murder President PPP Karachi division, Syed Faisal Raza Abidi, acting general secretary Irshad Naqvi and secretary information, Saeed Ghani, have strongly condemned the killing of Khalid Ali Shahenshah, the chief security officer of party Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari. In a press statement issued here on Tuesday, they termed the killing of Khalid Alishahenshah a conspiracy aimed at destabilising the PPP government. They added that killing of Khalid Ali Shahenshah was an open threat to PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari. They said that chief security Officer of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, Munawar Sehwardi, was also gunned down when the martyred party chairperson announced her return from abroad. They appealed the PPP workers to be calm and foil the conspiracies of terrorists to derail the present democratic government. They added that anti-democratic forces wanted to create law and order situation in the province with a view to destabilise the PPP government.
