OUR STAFF REPORTER SARGODHA Police have busted an inter-district car lifter gang and recovered 41 vehicles worth over Rs 30 million from their possession. It was revealed by Regional Police Officer Rao Sardar Ali and District Police Officer Dr Muhammad Rizwan during a joint press conference and also handed over keys to owners at Police Line Sargodha on Friday. It is told to the newsmen that police had apprehended seven members car lifter gang and recovered 41 vehicles which were snatched and theft from Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot and other cities of the country. The RPO said that Sargodha had became the save heaven for the criminals but as the results of the solid and stern measures against crime loving elements by the police this area has become peaceful again. District Police Officer Dr. Muhammad Rizwan said that police have arrested seven car lifters and recovered 41 cars of various models he added. He said that after laboratory examination these vehicles are being handover to their owners in transparent way. DPO also told that police have arrested some other criminals including proclaimed offenders involved in heinous crimes. At that occasion Member Provincial Assembly Ch. Abdul Razzaq Dhillon eulogized the Sargodha police for its remarkable and commendable performance. Separately, a woman was awarded death sentence in a murder case. According to the prosecution that Zaiba Arshad, a resident of village 13/SB, had killed a youth Nasir Shafi over the denial to marry her on January 19, 2010. Police had registered a case against Zaiba Arshad and co-accused Saif Allah. Additional District and Session Judge Malik Mushtaq Elahi Bingi awarded death sentence and fined Rs.200000 to her but other accused Saif Allah was acquitted over the benefit of doubt.
