ISLAMABAD (Online) - Senator Raza Rabbani has said the management of Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has failed to abide by the provisions of privatisation accord, therefore, the Nepra should take over its control. During the debate in the senate session on Friday, Rabbani said he had opposed privatisation of the KESC. Handing over vital state entities to foreign entrepreneurs was a threat to national security as Karachi was passing such a situation, he added. The KESC management was pursuing anti-people and anti-labourers policies, he accused. He went on to say that a managing director (MD) of any company was not above the Pakistani laws. The KESC MD did not come even on the call of Sindh chief minister, Sindh governor and parliamentary committees, he pointed out.
