LAHORE (APP) - The federal government on Friday advised the people intending to perform Haj and Umra to must travel through authorised registered tour operators and obtain an authentic copy of the agreement clearly mentioning the total cost of the package along with terms and conditions. Provincial Chief, Tourist Service, Federal Ministry of Tourism, Muhammad Nasim Laber talking to APP here, said that all desirous pilgrims other than government schemes must ensure that tour operator was properly registered and authorised license holder from the competent authority, then negotiate otherwise do not take risk. They have further been advised to make payment only through a cross cheque to tour operators instead of cash and must get a signed receipt of the payment along with a copy of details of the package. The federal government has decided to take strict action against registered Haj and Umra tour operators if they violate the terms and conditions of the package offered to the people. Laber said that action would be ensured against tour operators who do not fulfil their commitments and fail to provide the facilities contained in the package. Every facility that has been charged for should be delivered by the tour operator, and if not, action will be taken against them, and the money will be recovered and returned to the aggrieved persons, he added. He said that any aggrieved person from the province, except Rawalpindi district, may send his complaint to him by post to 37-N Model Town Extension, near Nespak, Lahore or fax it to 042-99232411. The complaint must contain all necessary information with the correct name and complete address of the tour operator, so that timely action could be initiated. Complainants can also contact Assistant Controller Wazir Ahmad Bosan to register their grievance for necessary action at the same address, he advised.
