LAHORE  - Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Amin Wains has said that if police want respect from people then they will have to give respect to the public and behave politely with the citizens at police stations.

He said that new motorcycles have been provided to beat officers and more motorcycles would be given to the remaining beat officers within a couple of days. He expressed these views while addressing the training session of beat officers at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh on Wednesday. SSP (Investigation) Rana Ayyaz Saleem also gave briefing to beat officers regarding beat system during the training session.

The CCPO said that beat officers and beat constables should participate in every function in their beat because this practice would help strengthen their contacts with the communities. He said that beat officers will have to immediately appoint a person as coordinator over every 50 houses and 50 shops so that problems of citizens could be resolved. He said that the aim of beat system is to provide justice to the people at their doorstep and further promote sense of protection among them.
