RAWALPINDI - A cracker blast occurred on a road outside the main gate of Jinnah Park on Wednesday, rattling the law enforcement agencies' personnel deputed in the high security zone.

Luckily, no casualty was reported.

According to well-placed sources in the security department, a man arrived in a white Mehran car and hurled a cracker towards the main gate of the Jinnah Park and sped away.

They said that some taxi drivers were standing near the gate who noticed this sudden fall of some hard stuff and one of them kicked the cracker towards road. "The cracker exploded with a big bang while creating a crater of six inches," they said, adding no casualty was reported.

After the blast, law enforcers rushed towards the crime scene and cordoned off the area. The CPO and other police officers, besides army personnel, also reached the scene and reviewed the situation.

The blast occurred in an area surrounded by offices of CPO, SSP Operations, SP Saddar, SP HQ, CSO, Commissioner, DCO and District Courts. No police high-up was available for his comments
