LAHORE  - Jamaat-e-Islami chief Senator Sirajul Haq has called upon the government to immediately grant voting right to over two million Pakistanis working in Saudi Arabia.

Talking to journalists at Lahore airport on return from Saudi Arabia, he urged the Election Commission to make necessary arrangements to facilitate the voting by the Pakistani in KSA.

He said that the overseas Pakistanis were ready for every sacrifice for the country but nobody cared for them at all. He said the Pakistani embassies totally failed to solve the problems of the overseas Pakistanis.

Expressing deep concern over the heavy losses caused by rains and floods in different parts of the country, the JI chief said it was unfortunate that the rulers were persistently avoiding construction of new dams. He said the JI on coming to power would build as many as one hundred dams in order to overcome the water and power crisis and to solve the problems of recurring floods.

He urged the government to begin work on the Bhasha Dam on war footing as there was national consensus on this project.
