During the regime of Pervaiz Musharaf, development in Karachi was rapid. The infrastructure of Karachi was becoming better; bridges, underpasses, and roads were being constructed. After all these successful projects, the Governor of Sindh, Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, signed Karachi’s biggest project named Lyari Expressway. This toll highway is to be 16.5 km long, 8 lane road designed to improve the situation of heavy traffic in Karachi. This project was started on May 11, 2002 and it was scheduled to be completed in December 2009 but the completion was delayed due to the lack of funding and difficulties in resetting affected residents.

However, in June 2016 it was announced that the final legal hurdles had been cleared and 99% of construction had been completed. I request the government and other concerned authorities to complete this project as soon as possible because this project can change the economic condition of Karachi as well as Pakistan.
