Sri Lanka's Tillakaratne Dilshan scored the highest number of runs while Umar Gul of Pakistan claimed the highest number of wickets in the just concluded second Twenty-20 World Cup in England. Man of the tournament, Dilshan, scored 317 runs at an average of 52.83 and a strike rate of 144.74 with three fifties in seven innings of as many matches. He hit 46 fours and three sixes in this tournament. Umar Gul who claimed 13 wickets at an average of 12.15 and a economy rate of 6.44, also became the first bowler to take 25 or more wickets in Twenty-20 World Cup matches. He took same number of wickets, exactly as many as in the 2007 edition. In 2007 he averaged 11.92 at an economy rate of 5.60. No century was made in 54 innings.
