The National Assembly here Tuesday granted approval to 153 demands for grants worth over Rs. 1429 billion for various federal ministries and divisions. Minister of State for Finance and Economic Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar moved the motions for grants to meet the expenditures during the year ending June 30, 2010 those were later approved. As many as 187 demands of grants were tabled before the House out of those 153 were presented while the rest 34 would be subject to the approval after discussion on the cut motions moved by the opposition members. The opposition members moved no cut motions against these 153 demands approved by the Lower House of the Parliament today, most of those were related to Cabinet Division, defense production, establishment division, finance division, environment, forest, economic affairs, housing and works, industries and production, ministry of information and broadcasting, Kashmir affairs, minorities affairs, Pakistan Post, FATA, Kashmir and Northern Areas, Senate and National Assembly.
