It has been claimed by the intellectuals that if democratic culture is brought up, Pakistan can become a just and fair society. But the reality is something different; democracy can never bring justice even if its implemented with all the accessories. In principle, there is no right or wrong in democracy and its all about majority as 2/3rd hands are required to be raised to amend or change or abolish any law. An act which had never been considered a crime can become a serious offense in a matter of minutes. Conversely, a crime having serious punishment connected to it can be converted into a healthy act. And there are examples of this all over the globe. In USA, it was not allowed for security forces to detain any person before the Patriot Law. In Pakistan, Hudood Ordinance was modified and an act categorized once as offense is no more a crime. So what about those who have been through years and years of imprisonment? Interestingly, there is every chance that same law will be revoked again by next assembly. So what is actually justice and what is actually unfair as there is no consistent and constant definition for right and wrong Indeed, expecting justice from Democracy is a self denial as this system caters the will of those few who rule many others. It is the power that remains among those few who exercise it over many others. Islam is the only solution to this problem as it gives constant, invariable and consistent rulings for right and wrong. It doesnt change as per the will of people. Caliph is only responsible to apply and implement what Allah Almighty has revealed, whats defined as justice in Shariah will remain justice, and whats defined as sin will remain sin. Its high time political leadership presented the true picture of democracy which is cruel, brutal and inhumane in its very nature. It is designed to spread anarchy, chaos, disparity and injustice among societies. It has to be replaced by the true system of Islam that is called Caliphate which has an exemplary judicial system that follows the laws that cant be amended as per the will of rulers.
