Ramzan, the month of religiously dedicated routine is around the corner. This time around, Ramzan is coming in a spell of intense seasonal heat. In this scenario, the government needs to ensure that that this religious duty is performed in an environment of maximum possible relief. The Prime Minister convened a special meeting and has directed the Secretary of Water and Power to ensure the maximum possible relief by minimizing the power outages. Furthermore, it is reported that the Ministry of Water and Power will increase the daily supply from 24 thousand tonnes of oil up to 30 thousand tonnes to thermal power plants in order to increase the electricity supply. Though such measures cannot possibly provide long run solutions to the electricity issue, it is hoped that if applied in letter and spirit, this initiative can surely give people the much needed timely relief in the upcoming holy month.
