17 landlords, tenants booked for law violation

Rawalpindi - Police have booked as many as 17 landlords and tenants for violating Punjab Information of Temporary Residence Ordinance 2015, informed police spokesman here on Monday.
Separately, City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi reinstated a large number of police officers and constables who earlier were suspended over various departmental violations and charges, he added.
According to him, Chaudhry Riaz, station house officer of police station Pirwadhai, has registered cases against 17 house owners and their tenants as they did not pass on the required particulars to the police. Those who were booked by police included house owners Nazir Ahmed and tenants Muhammad Abbas, Shamas-ud-Din, Hidayat Ullah, Sheraz, Amir, Niaz Gul, Zahoor Ehali, Kamran, Sarfraz, Hanif and Muhammad Asif. All the accused have been arrested by police, the spokesman added.
He said that CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi, on the other hand, reviewed the pleas of many police officers and constables who were suspended owing on various charges. ASI Asghar, Constables Adil, Shafique, Zubair, Irfan, Arslan, Fazal Rabi, Mukhtar Ahmed, Naeem Safdar, Faheem Nisar, Shahid Zafar, Ishtiaq Hussain, Changez Khan, Khurram Shehzad, Muhammad Wasim, Aftab Raffique, Shahid Gulzar and Shafqat Hussain were the police cops who were reinstated by CPO, the spokesman said.
He also informed that PS Gunjmandi, following the special instructions of CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi, launched a crackdown against the traders who were involved in illegal refilling of LGP gas cylinders and arrested Ahsan ul Haq and recovered the instruments he was using in refilling the LPG cylinders. Case was registered against the accused, he said.
