LAHORE - A three-year-old girl died in the rainwater and 12 others were injured during rain related incidents in different parts of the provincial metropolis yesterday.

Nadia, the daughter of Amjad Ali, died in Khizarabad area of Baghbanpura yesterday afternoon. The girl was playing in the street when she fell into an empty plot filled with rain waters. Some locals managed to pull out her body from the pond.

The local police also reached the spot and handed over the body to the family.

Meanwhile, at least 12 persons were wounded in rain-related accidents during yesterday’s downpour. Seven people were injured when the roof of a shoe-making factory collapsed on them in Hanjarwal police precincts. They were shifted to the Jinnah hospital by rescue workers.

Two men were wounded seriously when the roof of a hotel collapsed on them in Sofiyabad. Similarly, three members of a family were injured when their roof of their house collapsed on the Allama Iqbal Road.
