ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTWF) president Lt Col (R) Wasim Ahmed Janjua has said that the federation has sent 10 individuals to China to attend 87th International Kyorugi Referee Seminar, 101st International Kyorugi Referee Refresher Course, 27th International Poomsae Referee Seminar and 25th International Poomsae Referee Refresher Course.

Talking to The Nation, Wasim said: “These courses will commence on June 21 and will conclude on June 29 and will be attended by Murtaza Hassan Bangash, Kamran Qamar Kureshi, Nadeem Ahmed, Nisar Ahmed, Malik Altaf Aziz Malik, M Shahzad, M Khurram Rasheed, M Asad Yousuf Zai, Tallah Junaid and Najia Rasool.”

He said the above mentioned individuals had been selected purely on merit. “There are 4th Dan degree holders or above of Kukkiwon as per selection criteria of World Taekwondo Federation (Referee Division). The main aim to attend the course is to get qualification of international referee so that they may be able to conduct international level competitions.”

“BY virtue of attending the course, they will pass on latest rules and regulations to national referees and athletes. This is the biggest ever contingent of technical officials, which were sent abroad by the federation. The organisation capacity of the federation will be enhanced and quality of refereeing will be visible at national level competitions,” Wasim concluded.
