MULTAN - Two youngsters died reportedly after truck rammed into their motorcycle on 17-Kasi, Vehari-Multan road, on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Farhan, 21, son of Jafar Ali and Muhammad Aadil, 17, son of Muhammad Aslam. According to Rescue 1122, the youngsters were on their way when the truck rammed them while overtaking. Both died on the spot. The passersby informed Rescue-1122 and police. Emergency service reached the spot and shifted the dead bodies to hospital. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
Meanwhile, a man drowned in fish farm at Ghalluwala village near Shah Jamal in Muzaffargarh. According to Rescue 1122, an old man namely Ghulam Rasool son of Allah Bukash drowned suddenly in a fish-farm. Rescue 1122 team reached the site but the local people had already recovered the body. The dead body was handed over to the heirs. Concerned police was investigating the incident. Meanwhile in Muzaffargarh, three students including two brothers were crushed to death in an accident at Chak No 424/TDA, near Chowk Sarwar Shaheed. According to Rescue 1122, three students including two brothers namely Mansoor, Ahmed Raza and Nauman were heading to their school. All of a sudden, a speeding trailer hit their motorcycle causing their death on the spot. The trailer was heading to Multan from Chowk Azam. The ages of the students ranged between 10 to 15 years old. Police was investigating the incident. Meanwhile, Provincial Energy Minister Dr Akhtar Malik on Tuesday said Southern Punjab budget would be spent in the area. Addressing inaugural ceremony of road stretching from Dunyapur pavement to Chah Kharan Walla, he said that they would never let anyone spend Southern Punjab somewhere else in the province.
The Punjab government believed in serving masses, and leaving no stone unturned to resolve long-held issues spreading in southern belt of the province, he added. He said that entire budget of 35 percent reserved for Southern Punjab, would be spent for development of the region with welfare of its people.
The minister said, in past, a sizeable portion of the regional budget used to be spent in upper part of the province, adding that it would not happen time and again.
BISE announces training schedule for supervisory staff
Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE) would conduct training of supervisory staffs including Superintendents and distribution inspectors for HSSC examination.
A spokesperson for BISE on Tuesday stated that the staff of Khanewal district had been asked to attend training workshop on June 26 at Government High School at 10am. He informed that second training session would be organised at Government High School Gagan Hatta, Lodhran on June 28 for both male and female supervisory staff of the area at 10am adding, third centre for training would be Government Model Higher Secondary School, Vehari wherein it would be conducted on June 29.
The training would be held at Jubilee Hall of BISE on June 30 for Multan and its adjoining areas staff for Higher Secondary School exams to be commenced from July 10, he concluded.
