LAHORE - The reported cancellation of a meeting between PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif and PML-Q President Ch Shujaat Hussain caused much embarrassment to the latter; but actually it happened due to miscommunication between the two sides. Sources close to Nawaz Sharif told The Nation on Sunday that as a matter of fact no precise date for a meeting between the Sharifs and Chaudhrys had been fixed, though an understanding had been reached that the two sides would meet some time in the near future. Sources further said that Ch Shujaat's son, Ch Salik Hussain and owner of a media group, related to Chaudhry's of Gujrat, had a meeting with Shahbaz Sharif a week before in which prospects of a meeting between Nawaz Sharif and Ch Shujaat were discussed. Shahbaz agreed, but he did not give any precise date, though some possible dates for the proposed meeting were discussed. The news was prematurely leaked by the duo to the media, without confirmation from Sharifs, to the utter embarrassment of Chaudhrys.
