LAHORE - Title sponsors Punjab Police romped to an easy 7-4 1/2 win against Nurpur in the Punjab Police Polo Cup at the Lahore Polo Club here on Sunday. The match started with a two goal first chukker with Punjab Police hammering them both. Nurpur, already underdogs with one-and-a-half goal handicap, might have thought that replacement of Waseem Sial with Zakir Khan would help their cause, but instead the winning team came with even more energy. In the second chukker Nurpur staged a bit of recovery with goals from Malik Azam Hayat Noon and Maj Usman scoring. But the good work did not have much of an impact on overall picture as Punjab Police also scored two goals in the chukker. In the third chukker John Fisher converted two goals and Maj Usman one for Nurpur. With a lead of six goals, it was almost over for Nurpur in the last chukker and Atif Tiwana, in the closing stages of the match, scored another goal to ensure even better a margin.
