Lines crossing

The Indian strategy of building dams on rivers flowing into Pakistan shows an absolute disregard for the treaties between the two countries on use of water. This is a newly-discovered weapon with which India is trying to emasculate Pakistan. But their joy on Pakistans plight is short-lived. The Indian strategists fail to realize the fact that when pushed to such an extreme, Pakistan would also look for ways in retaliation to make India an object of misery. Pakistan would rationally resort to this action before it is trampled all over by the Indian jackboot. This dangerous Indian strategy is a red rag that might make Pakistan cross a line too. -MARIAM HAQ, Rawalpindi, March 16.
