The Lahore High Court on Thursday dismissed a petition seeking disqualification of Senator Babar Awan. Petitioner Afaq Ahmad had pleaded that the PPP leader was elected as Senator from Punjab whereas he was a resident of Islamabad. He also contended that according to the information available on his ID card, Babar was a temporary resident of Islamabad whereas he was a permanent resident of Kahuta area and it falls in the Punjab province.

After recording contentions, Justice Umar Ata Bandial dismissed the petition declaring it not maintainable for hearing.
